| Can you help redesign my garden?? -

I moved to mansfield about 6 months ago, a nice cheap rented house with your normal mid terraced garden long and thin. It is about 4.3m wide and about 20 or 25 metre long. Wood pannel fences at both sides.
There is a flower bed down the left hand side about 60cm then a nasty concrete path about 45-50cm path and then "grass".
When i say "grass" it hadn't been looked after before i moved in so i simply cut it to reveal lots of compressed mud and clumps of grass so i raked it and simply chucked some grass seed down. now i have a mix of nice grass and nasty grass.
THere is also a 3m x width of the garden concrete "slab" at the bottom of the garden.
My main problem is that the house is rented and im reasonably limited on cash although i have plenty of time on my hands at the moment.
THe general idea of a garden is you would start off with your garden furnature etc and then you have some nice grass at the bottom which would be no use as the house is ugly and far too shaded.
I have got an inflatable 6 x 10 foot pool coming at the moment, which i was tempted to sort of drop into the ground, i like the idea of decking around it. i like mood lighting etc.... im just stuck
can anyone point me in a good direction??
I hope im not asking too much and look forward to hearing any ideas.
